iPhone 5 delayed
Insiders working for Apple on the iOS 5 have rumoured the 5th gen iPhone will be delayed until September 2011 for general release into the UK market. iPhone 5 (not official name) is likely to use the new dual core A5 CPU which powers the iPad 2. Low margin assembly businesses benefit most from new product releases. Most of the hardware components and even the final iPhone handsets are manufactured in East Asia. Following from the recent Tsunami crisis, Japan will need time to rebuild transport links, infrastructure and factories.Reuter:"Suppliers to the new iPhone include camera module maker Largan Precision Co Ltd, touchscreen panel maker Wintek Corp and case maker Foxconn Technology Co Ltd"
Product updates normally occur annually for Apple's top selling gadgets. A new iPod 5th gen model, will almost certainly be geared more towards Music, Social Networking, and gaming, than ever before. The App Store, has tons of really good games, which play well on iPods & iPhones, these are becoming more popular and much cheaper than console games. Lots of best-selling titles, such as 'Angry Birds', cost only £0.59p! In response Nintendo has lined up Select Wii titles at budget prices, starting from £10.
In April 2011 the White iPhone 4 handset launched, by popular demand. The price and specifications are the same in 16GBs and 32GBs, except for having a White colour case. Apple executives gave a valid reason for having a 10 month delay: "the white version required significant retooling to properly tune the device's sensors to its glass shell".
Whether a 5th generation White iPhone is on the cards, its unlikely to come out before the black iPhone 5. That said, the next iteration(s), two of them might be a type of pro version - which we called the "4s" and another rumour too common to ignore is that of theiPhone nano?
