Which operator has the best 3G coverage?

Ofcom regulate Mobile Network coverage claims, and produce maps showing the percentage of coverage by the carriers. The last time the statistics were published, the picture appears so:

*Rural areas appear lesser well covered by all the carriers as shown in the image.

The indicated coverage represents areas where the threshold is exceeded for 50% of the locations and 50% of time.

On 5th October 2010, Orange and T-Mobile enabled their networks to let customers access both networks so they can make calls and send texts in more places in the UK at no extra cost.
